Are you interested in joining the NAB community and participating in the working groups? 

ECOSYSTEM BUILDING

Creating an enabling impact-friendly environment, from local capacity building to helping shape more supportive regulatory policies.

In order to achieve this the NAB has identified the following actions:

  • Gathering open source tools to move potential impact investors (new comers) and map the impact investment sector

  • Impact investing campaign; Set up and regularly updating website with curated examples, interviews, links to open source data and charts, etc; identify role models

  • Knowledge sharing: set up a central networking platform for Dutch stakeholders; create project collaboration spaces

SCALING DEMAND AND SUPPORTING THE DEVELOPMENT OF IMPACT INVESTMENT SUBSECTORS

Supporting the building of a healthy pipeline of investable opportunities, including earlier-stage initiatives and innovations: a growing number of impact entrepreneurs are innovating to tackle pressing social and environmental issues around the world – from access to basic health, energy and financial services to youth unemployment and education.

  • Support policy recognition of new corporate forms focused at impact;

  • Support the development of legislative change towards making Responsible Businesses, Consumption and

  • Procurement the norm

  • Sharing (international) examples of scalable cases/success stories and best practices to support the forming of a healthy pipeline

CLOSING THE GAP

Fostering innovation by a wide range of intermediaries, across different asset classes, to allocate capital to projects delivering social good as well as financial returns. Intermediaries are an essential solution to the mismatch between demand and supply of impact capital. They could bring in innovative solutions such as de-risking, guarantees or blended finance to crowd-in other investors.

  • Stimulate the co-creation of credit enhancement solutions (guarantees, first loss, blended finance) as a catalyst to crowd-in other investors

  • Research and share experiences of wholesale impact funds or outcome funds in the Dutch and international contexts

CATALYZING SUPPLY OF CAPITAL

Mobilizing pools of capital 

such as pension funds or retail investors and co-create impact investment structures meeting their requirements.

  • Lobby for lower capital requirements in illiquid and higher capital charge impact investments under Basel IV, Solvency II and VEV

  • Align with other European GSG members on purpose and process of lobby at European level

  • Enhance fiscal incentives for impact investors
