The Hague, 8th October 2026

The LIFe-impact framework, developed by a coalition of Invest-NL, VGZ Voorop in Zorg Fund, PGGM, Achmea IM and CbusineZ, is entering its next phase. NAB impact investing will become the new home of the framework and support its wider use among impact investors. The transition will be marked at the LIFe Framework: A Partnership for Health and Innovation Event at the Rosarium in Amsterdam on 26 October. The event will bring together Dutch and international impact investors to explore a shared challenge: how to assess and compare the real-world impact of healthcare investments.

Making healthcare impact easier to assess

How can investors determine whether an investment in an innovative healthcare startup delivers sustainable impact? And how can that impact be assessed consistently across different investments? To help answer these questions, the coalition developed the LIFe-impact framework. It provides investors with a shared methodology for assessing the potential impact of healthcare investments and enables them to systematically incorporate impact considerations into their investment decision-making.

The framework was developed together with parties from across the field and launched in 2025. From the outset, the ambition went beyond creating a tool for the organisations involved. The framework was designed to support the wider impact investing community.

From development to wider adoption

NAB impact investing will now take the framework forward, hosting it and actively supporting its use among impact investors. With the framework in place, the next step is widespread adoption and practical integration by investors, entrepreneurs, policymakers and academics. This will enable each stakeholder group to contribute to the transformation of the healthcare and well-being sector.

A Community of Practice will form an important part of this approach. It will give investors a place to share experiences, learn from each other and explore how impact measurement across different healthcare investments can be further improved.

“The Netherlands has the ambition, expertise and capital to lead the way in impact investing for healthcare. But to scale investment in the solutions our healthcare system needs, we need a common approach to measuring impact. The LIFe-impact framework provides that foundation. By bringing it to the NAB and building a community around it, we can help investors make better decisions and direct more capital towards innovations that improve health outcomes and strengthen the resilience of Dutch healthcare.”, says Laure Wessemius-Chibrac, Managing Director, NAB impact investing

Bringing the impact investing community together

On the 26th of October, we will be hosting the LIFe Framework: A Partnership for Health and Innovation Event at the Rosarium in Amsterdam, bringing together Dutch and international impact investors to explore the LIFe-impact framework and its practical application. The afternoon programme will offer participants the opportunity to exchange experiences on measuring healthcare impact and contribute to the Community of Practice around the framework.
